99 Expedition tailgate wiper motor plus

Finally have some time to get some things cleared up...

1. Tailgate wiper motor - The motor is good. If I tear it apart and put it all back together, it works for a week or so, then quits. Repeat.
No wires are pulling loose, and I've not been able to find any loss of connectivity. The last time I also pulled the housing apart as it seemed that the rotator shaft might be binding some. Put dielectric grease on the shaft and gears, perma-tex'd the gasket and put it all back together. About a week later, again not working. Any ideas?

2. I had the cold solder odometer problem. Heated the contacts up, worked for about 8 months. Second time, in my determination to be thorough, I think I overheated the contacts, as now the odometer doesn't just blank out, it also sometimes flickers random numbers. Can I safely replace the cluster with one from a recycler, or am I better off trying to remove all of the old solder and starting from scratch on the original?

3. Driver's heated seat - Light comes on when button is pushed, but no heat. Can anything be done that doesn't involve removing/replacing the seat?

Thanks all!

1. I'd debate that the motor is good. If it keeps failing, then it isn't. Maybe it got beaten up from the binding shaft and that has done it in?
2. IDK
3. It is likely a broken wire in the grid in the heating element, if you pull the cover off the lower seat you will likely see a little burn mark where it gave up. I'm not sure if you can just get the element or you need the whole cushion.
