Powder coating exhaust manifolds

I would say ceramic coating would be a better bet. The issue comes with why would you pull your manifolds and coat them just to fight reinstalling them and the gains would be very minimal.. I doubt you could find any difference from a factory uppipes/manifold set up to a coated one.
There are much better performance options for our vehicles.
I am ceramic coating a ton of parts on a performance cummins engine but that is because it is in pieces...

I have used the high temp powdercoat on other manifolds and headers previously, but not on the powerstroke, and they held up ok. Ceramic coatings seem better nowadays.
Clay@Riffraff used to do a manifold exchange program, but it is no longer listed.
Decking and ceramic coated.
If you get your up-pipes from Clay it is an option to have them coated as well.

I cant see it hurting anything. But I wouldn't think its a measurable change. Some say they see better spool up by ceramic coating their exhaust housings on their charger.
If you can do it go for it. I think the coatings from auto parts stores are junk. I would find a gasser speed shop. Reusing your manifolds? Your surface condition is very important to how well the coating sticks.
good luck

Any shipping will kill.. your best bet is to find someone in your backyard to do it.

Andrew, Yea GF is nice. Hope you and your x liked it when you were here.
I talked with Mike at Pro-tec (stand up guy) and he said powder would not hold up and even he dosen't know of anyone doing ceramics in the area. I may have to seek other avenues. Thanks for looking up the info on Pro-Tec. Ray
