Just rebuilt both rear drums on my 1965 f100 two wheel drive, replaced shoes, drums and cylinders and realized that the parking brake is not hooked up and the auto adjust cable / parts are missing, by doing some research I know a lot of people have removed the auto adjust cables because they are prone to breaking and messing up the drums but I'm thinking about buying the parts and putting them back in, I found that I can buy the auto adjust parts at NAPA but I'm not positive how the parking brake hooks up and if I have to have the auto adjust cable installed to make it work. I've looked at a bunch of diagrams, watched YouTube videos and read tutorials but it's not quite coming together for me, any help or insight would be appreciated.

Front & rear brakes, self adjuster parts, where parking brake cables attach shown here: 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog ~ Illustration Section 21 ~ Page 1.
Several members (Old Harley, Boss9F100) have this catalog on a CD, will scan and post pics, or you can get your own catalog from hipoparts.com for 22 bucks.
Rear brake component came off pass rear drum and by the time I investigated majority of the brake components were ground to dust. Found everything needed to rebuild the brake assembly thru NAPA. Posting a pic out of my 65 shop manual, not a very good one, of the rear brake assembly. May want to consider purchasing the CD Bill (ND) mentioned, the CD can be helpful; although, still takes me awhile to maneuver thru the various sections.
Thanks Guys, I've got the auto adjuster figured out, heading to NAPA today to buy the kit, the only thing I'm missing now is the part (clip of clamp) that connects the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever, this is the connection behind the brake shoes, can't seem to see this part listed or shown (I don't have the parts book ND notes), any help is appreciated, it almost looks like something I could fab easily but I hate to do anything like that to my brakes.

Where are you looking, under a rug? The same clip has been used on darn near everything since 1939. Every FoMoCo dealer should have them as they come in a package of 50.
