I'm not seeing how to disconnect the wiring on my 65 F250's blinker switch. The loom runs into the steering column, out again, and then seems to run all over under the dash.
Got a new one on it's way so I suspect that will give me a clue, but it's all about instant gratification ......
The new one will likely have slightly different length wires. I bought mine from Ford, and it did. I pulled all the wires out except one, and used it to pull a twine through. I used the twine, and lightly taped the wires, and pulled them right through. It was much easier than I thought it would be.
Outside, bottom of steering column, just in front of the firewall, is where the connecter is located that the T/S wires plug into.
Remove steering wheel, remove switch from upper flange. CUT the wires off the connector leaving just enough that their individual colors can be determined.
Tape these cut off wires together, tie a long heavy piece of string to them. Pull the switch from the column.
Now tape the new wires together, tie the string to them, pull the string from the bottom of the column, the wires will feed down without binding up.
Pull each individual colored wire from the connector, replace with correct colored wire.

The male pins in the plastic block are easily removed with a small thin jewelers screw driver. No need to cut the wires.
The reason to cut the wires, leaving just enough that their colors are visible, tie the string to the cut off wires, tape them together, pull the switch from the column is:
If you don't use this method, and just disconnect the wires, pull the switch from the column, you'll have to feed all the new individual T/S wires down the column.
It's a real b!tch because some will bind up, so you'll have to pull them all out, try try again.
And then what? Since all the original colored T/S wires were pulled as a unit from the connector, which new colored wire goes into the connector in the correct location?
Ford techs used the cut-off wire method, it works the first time. There's no real b!tch, no hassle, no guess work inre to which new colored wire go where.
