I am in need of a replacement radiator for my 1965 f100 6 cylinder with A/C. Does anyone know which years with the 6 cylinder are compatible, (I know 66 and later are NOT, but am not sure for previous years). I also am not sure if the A/C option makes a difference.

You can use either the 6 or 8 Cyl any that will fit your radiator support! You might go with the 8 cyl Radiator... better cooling! I have an original 8cyl Rad. that was in my 64.. I switched to a 4 core aluminum as I wanted heavy duty cooling...

jetcopterpilot. So are you saying that a '64 radiator will swap with a '65 no matter if its a 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder? Do you know if earlier years will work also? If so, how far back? I found a '61 but am not sure if the mounting bolts are in the same spot as the '65 or not...

***Edit*** Ah, I think you are just saying that a '65 8 cylinder will work also and are not implying that a '64 would work in my situation. Its amazing what a second read will do. Would anyone know if I can use an earlier model year for my '65?

According to the parts catalog I have which is pretty old, 61-64 are all the same other than number of rows.. and then it list 65 and 66 as the same they are slightly different from the 61-64, but it doesn't show how they differ? I used a High performance Universal Aluminum cross flow that I got from Jeg's for $165... You just have to get the dimension from side to side, and from top to bottom, and they will set you up with one that fits.. and the aluminum radiators do a lot better job of cooling, so that is always an alternative...
From what I have been reading the only diference is where the mounting holes are on the radiator brackets.. a few people had posted that they just drilled new holes and were good to go... My Catalogs show the 61-64 all the same.. and 65-66 all the same... but it seems with some minor work you can adapt others to fit.....
I bought A high performance 3 core aluminum cross flow, for $165, and then a mounting kit for $45 and it all bolted right in... got it from Jeg's it was a massive Improvement over the original Copper and Brass unit... My truck now always run's cool... I did have to use different hoses as the inlet and outlet were in slightly different places... but it was pretty easy to find the right ones at the local napa....
Jet, swing on by, borrow my '64/72 truck catalog on a CD (final printing May 1975) to download into your 'puter, cuz the catalog you're using has wrong info.
1965 F100/250 2WD vs 1966 F100/250 2WD: TWO different types of radiators! TWO different types of radiator supports!
1965 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD use a different radiator support (C6TZ-16138-C) than 1966 F100/250 2WD (C6TZ-13138-B).
The mounting flanges on the radiator are in a different location w/the C6TZ-16138-C support, than they are w/the C6TZ-16138-B support.
1961/64 F100/600, 1965 F100/250 4WD, 1965/66 F350/600, 1966 F250 4WD use a different radiator support (C2TZ-16138-G), different radiators.
So: 1965 F100/250 2WD's use ONE YEAR ONLY radiators. The radiators used in 1966 F100/250 2WD's are essentially the same thru 1979 F100/350's.
I don't have my '65 F100 352 2WD any longer to look at, but the parts catalog lists a different radiator for the 352 than it does for 240/300 I-6's. I seem to recall that the upper necks are in different locations.
OP: Why mess with changing radiators? Take yours to a radiator shop, have it recored. Problem solved. 1981: I had my original 2 row replaced by a staggered 4 row. With A/C, have a 3 row radiator core installed.

Jetcopterpilot, thanks for your help also, I did look into Jegs, but I do think there must be some discrepency / problems with the book you're using because everyone / everywhere I look the 1965 and '66's are quite different. I actually have an old '66 with a radiator I was going to use for the '65 and noticed it was different. That started this whole deal for me. Can't find a used or aftermarket one anywhere, so I looked into re-coring. Copper is so high right now that was quoted $280 bucks for a new core. Tried to find a used earlier model, but didn't want to buy the '61 only to find out that they had changed again. Suspected that '65 was already on its own, but wanted to get on here for some confirmation...looks like that is right though huh? Anyone have a '65 that they have found a cheaper option for other than recoring? I'm open to aluminum / aftermarket as long as they actually work and are cheaper than $280. Thanks much for all your thoughts / help guys!
$280.00 is a very fair price for a copper radiator. I think I paid more for my 4 row in 1981, and I got a discount from the radiator shop cuz I was the back counter partsguy at Crenshaw Motors Ford, the shop did all our radiator work.
Have you found a 1965 only replacement radiator yet?

See I told you it was an old questionable catalog.. Hey i had a local Shop pull the top and bottom off of my old one, they rodded it out and repaired all of the leaks for $60 that was about 2 years ago... It worked great, until I rebuilt and modded my engine, then it was a bit slow to cool things down.... the New radiator that I have is a Be cool. it is actually larger than the original by a few inches in height, and an inch wider, but it still fit using the Install kit that Jeg's Sold. The radiator currently is $215 and the install kit is $45... I just check on Jeg's so that is $260 for a new Aluminum... But check and see if a local Radiator shop will do a rebuild... you may not need a full re-core..

I put a rad from a later model truck with a 302 in my 66 (which has a 300-6). I'm not sure what year that donor truck was, 73 or so I'd guess. I'ts wider than my original, but plenty of room for it so I just drilled a couple mounting holes on the driver's side and I was fine. Better cooling than the smaller one too.
Thank you for all of your help guys. I have decided to go with rebuilding the current radiator as I could not find a replacement locally at a yard. I did consider the aluminum replacement suggested from jegs, and even called them up... they were very helpful and were confident they had a solution. The only reason I did not do this was to save time, and I can give the local guy some business this way. I need the truck back on the road, he was able to order the core today for dellivery tomorrow and should be finished by tomorrow afternoon. Its a bit more than I wanted to spend, (espcecially considering how I damaged the radiator in the first place, (long funny story there), but it will be fixed and good as new by tomorrow! Thanks again!
Just a warning about putting a V8 Radiator in front of a I-6 240. I did just that, and I had to put a 180 degree Thermostat in it because my truck never got to 190. I drove it for an hour, and stopped, and then drove more, and it never for to 190. I have to drive about 20 minutes before the 180 opens up. I may figure out a way to block part of it over the winter so I can get to temp when it is cold.
