SeriousXM Subscription?

I have never renewed my SeriousXM subscription. Once the 6 month trial was up, or what ever it was when I got my truck new, it quit working. Now I am on my second trial activations since. I got a letter in the mail saying it was on for 2 weeks, I think that is the same promotion they did before when it re-activated.

Funny thing - how I noticed the activation both times was the highways showed live traffic

In any event, the letter I got recently says I can buy 6 months of subscription for $25.

What are some of you paying and what would you consider to be a good deal? There are features I like - such as the live traffic and weather map. I can do without the "Radio" portion honestly.

Seems they've temporarily reactivated for a lot of folks.....

SiriusXM has turned back on lapsed subscribers' radios for two weeks

When I renewed mine, it had been expired for about three months or so. I got the SIRIUS and Travel Link for a little over $7 per month.

I renewed yesterday for the third time at a reduced price. After my trial expired, I renewed for 6 months for $36 plus $12 for Travel Link. Last April, I got 5 months for $27 without Travel Link and yesterday, I got 12 months for $96 without travel link which is half price (those numbers include taxes and other fees.) I don't have the travel link because most of the places I travel don't provide traffic info to the system. I use Gas Buddy on the phone for fuel prices.

Each time, I call them two days before it expires and tell them to cancel. They ask why and I tell them that I enjoy the service, but I don't spend enough time in my vehicle to pay their full price. They make me an offer. As long as it is half off or better, I'll take it.

I get the radio and the weather. I like the traffic but I don't subscribe to it, just use it when they turn it on.

Yes, I get letters in the mail for my exes Edge, 2 Fusions, an F150, an F250 and my exes Escape. they are all 6 months for $25.00. The problem with Sirius (for me) is the sound. It sounds half a step up from AM Radio. when the subscription ends on my new F150, it goes away.

P.S. they will auto-bill you at 5 months at the normal price after 5 months if you don't cancel it first...just an FYI.

I just let it go at 6 months. I tried to negotiate a $79.00 deal like I had before and they got firm with me. Forget that. Paying for radio??? All I have to do is put my favorite music on a memory stick and plug it in. Plus I've got a few hundred songs downloaded to the truck's hard drive. In my opinion pay radio is a fad that's fading fast. Technology has surpassed XM usefulness.

What about the actual services - live traffic and weather? The weather map sucks for what it is, but at least I can push a couple buttons real quick and get an "idea" when I'm on the road, instead of trying to navigate my smartphone. There are uses, I don't so much need the music/radio portion but I like the tools.

Same offer they had back in 2011, 6 for $25 or you can up for just as little as $5 a month for a year.... Got SiriusXM in my Jeep and it has been reactivated for over 3 weeks now, the Satellite pass must not have found me to turn it off since I park in a no reception metal building. Ah! who knows....

I still have a life-time subscription from when they use to offer it many years ago. I had the account moved to a portable unit, as they charge $75 to transfer the account each time and they only allow 3 total transfers. Doesn't really matter anyways, since my wife likes Sirius more than I do, I let her keep it mounted in her vehicle.

I will likely be a user of Sirius for decades to come....with only paying $399 for the initial account. Too bad they don't offer it anymore, as it was a losing deal for them for sure.

So what happens if your device stops working and you have to get it replaced? If you hit 3 activations you're still up a creek? Or will they let you transfer to the replacement device and not deduct from your 3 count?

I asked them that same question, and it seems that they would transfer the account without deduction as long as the radio was still under their manufacturer warranty (1year). I'm already ahead since I've had the account on my previous car for 5 years. I've almost had my portable unit for about a year and it still works fine. If the portable unit doesn't last, I'll just transfer it to my truck since I plan to keep it for many years.

That's less than 6 bucks a month, not bad. I have always had Sirius and love it. Nothing better than traveling around and not dropping a station. My Rubicon has the Nav with Sirius and travel/weather warnings etc. It has been a great addition and I will keep it.

I had Sirius in my Mustang and my current Fusion, and once the trial runs out I won't be renewing. All those deals are great, but from what I understand they auto renew at the going rate of around $12 after the promotion is through.

I pay for it for my wife's Sienna, but it's just not worth it for me. Although I'm in SYNC withdrawl with the new Ex, so I may have to make an exception.

I just renewed for a year under this deal. $95 per year seems fine for what you get.
