Theft light blinking
The other day I noticed that the theft light was blinking on my 98 Expy. It was flashing a code 16. Ever since I bought this truck the anti theft has not worked properly.
1. The light doesnt blink after the truck has been shut off
2. I can start the truck with a blank (no PATS chip) key
3. The alarm doesnt go off if I open the door
A while back I was putting in new headlight lenses and I took the ground wires off of the drivers side radiator support. Immediately after I heard a very light buzzing coming from the engine compartment on the drivers side. When I looked inside the truck I noticed the theft light flashing and when I opened the door the alarm went off (headlights flashing, horn sounding). And now after all this time I get a code 16.
Anyone got an idea here? Im totally lost.
