Does anyone have any expereince with this straight pipe 4" turbo back exhaust? Do you or anyone you know have it, if so do they like it? Was install hard to do? I'm figuring the hardest thing is going to be the down pipe. Thanks in advance!
I would only buy stainless steel, not aluminized. But, I guess if you aren't in an area with road salt and a lot of moisture it would be okay.
Yeah that is true! I live in Maryland where they use the crap out of salt in the winter. I guess for $200.00 more I should just opt for the SS. You don't happen to know anyone with this system do you and if they are happy with it or not. I'm sure I'd be happy with it since mine is totally stock! I've been wanting to do the bullet proofing since I had the truck but all the money it would take is insane. I'm going to have to hold off on all that until I pay some things off.
I put the MBRP 5" (S6224PLM) on my truck a couple years ago. Basically the same thing you are looking at but in 5". I love it. Installed it by myself in the driveway in an hour or two. I mocked it up under the truck loosely, made sure it settled without any contact with the frame and snugged it up from the downpipe to the tailpipe.
Just watch that you dont reef the heck out of the exhaust clamps. Once you crease the pipes together they can be hard to adjust in the future if need be. A good amount of boppin' offroad sometimes clanks the exhaust around enough where I have had to go under and readjust. Quite a bit of weight moving around when you think about it.
Not a bad idea to spend a few extra bucks and go with the stainless. Mine is aluminumized and I live in Michigan...so the winters are a little hard on it, but so far it has held up fine. I figure by the time it craps out I will either have a different truck or be ready for a different exhaust setup. Good luck.
I bet in MD you will be fine with the aluminized vs stainless..... use the 200 bucks towards other upgrades! I've had my 05 since new...no prob at all here in MD.
