There are tons out there. Do a little research on here and you'll find a lot of opinions. From what I gather after a lot of reading stainless is just an upgrade, do you need it, no, does it look good, YES. So if you have the extra money to drop on it and want it go for it. I would think unless you live somewhere that they use salt on the roads year round then it wouldn't be needed, but then again how long would the truck last if you where driving through salt every day anyways.
There is a lot of talk about the MBRP and the Diamond Eye which seems to be the two biggest contenders for our trucks. I'm sure they are probably built pretty much the same, but just like everything everyone is going to go with one and not the other. I'm actually about to be ordering the 4" Diamond Eye Turbo back after payday at the end of the month, just cause there are a lot of recommendations for it and its a little cheaper then MBRP, but if the MBRP goes on sale before I order it then thats what I'll go with since there are a lot of recommendations for it too.
Diamond Eye is a good product for a good price, the aluminized will stand up to most use, stainless looks better and might hold up to salt corrosion better if you live in a place that uses it in the winter...
Personally I'd go Diamond Eye aluminized 4" or 5" if you want a deeper tone.
My son in law is saving up for the Diamond Eye aluminized turbo back. I bought a MBRP 3" down pipe, a 3" to 4" fitting from the parts store, a piece of 4" pipe and a 4" 45* from a muffler shop, and built my own exhaust. I've got about $160 in the whole thing.
Has anybody tried the AFE exhaust that is at Riff Raff Diesel ? I like the looks of the stainless one, 49-43001 is the # ? It has a muffler delete pipe that might come in handy. I don't know that I need the stainless we don't get a lot of snow here but they do use salt on the roads when we do.
thanks RB
