Well, I got under the front today, and got rid of the lift block that was in there, and took out 3 leafs. Should get 2.5-3" out of it, just the parts I took out alone measure 2". Problem is, I ran out of threads on my u-bolts. What are any if you lowered guys with the front beam doing, buying aftermarket U-bolts, or threading yours further up? I can find 'stock' ones , at places like Mac's, etc...but haven't ran across any that said they'd work without the block and all of the springs. In other words, they either need to be threaded more, or a set of shorter ones.
Thanks, marine1200. I was talking to a buddy of mine earlier, who dropped by, and he said the local driveline shop here in town used to make them, so I'm going to give them a try, too.
Yeah 5 Star, I had the local driveline shop here in Gainesville, GA, Ron's Drivelines, bend me up a set. They keep the straight blanks, threaded on each end, in several different lengths, and then bend them the correct width and shape. He used 10" blanks, measured mine, put the flat bends in them, and sold them to me with nuts & washers for $5.77 each. No complaints with that price, and work perfectly for my application.
