98 Expe EB - The front passenger side window disconnected from the regulator track. I pulled the trim panel and speaker. I can see where the track grabs the bottom of the glass. That's where it came off. Doesn't look broken, just slipped out. It looks like it was just glued there. I hope my description is ok. That's the best way I can describe it. Has this happened to anyone else? What kind of glue can I use to reattach it?
I believe there should be a couple tabs glued to the glass with studs coming out of them that then bolt to the window regulator.
At least that's what it looks like in my catalog.
If the glued on tab has come off you can try gluing it back on but you'll need some really strong glue, we used to keep a special 3M glass adhesive that was just for that type of job.
You may want to call a local glass installer and see if they can do it, odds are they can.
I went to Oriellys and got an epoxy made for glass. Glued it back and let it sit for acoupke days before rolling down. Been holdin fine since. That was back in December.
The guy at Napa recommended 3M 2 part epoxy. He said to let it set for 2-3 days since its still cold out. So thats what I did. Sunday I'll see if it holds. I did make sure to scrape out all the old glue and clean it out with Goof Off.
