On my 56 the driver side window is very hard to move up and down. I took it apart and found the window fuzzies are making it too tight. With them out the window moves freely.
Is there some kind of adjustment for that?
I also cracked the glass so now I need to replace that. I'm hoping to find someone who's changed to one piece glass and wants to get rid of their old glass.
Two words that send a chill up my spine "window fuzzies"
Let me guess if installing reproduction ones:
1) scratched the fresh paint
2) broke the door glass
3) cursed so many bad words the birds stopped singing and crickets didn't chirp that night
4) they still didn't fit
As it turns out the previous owner installed the fuzzies and had them sitting over the side moldings (not sure what their called). I took out the fuzzies and trimmed them down a little so they but up to the side pieces. I reinstalled the fuzzies and made sure the clips were all the way in this time. The window moves easy now.
I've seen several places online that you can order all new glass at a fair price. If you are needing just that single piece replaced than a local glass shop is probably your best bet.
My family owns a glass company and cutting all new glass can be pretty expensive now days because there are so few guys that have the ability to do it without wasting a lot of expensive laminated glass, but for a single that should be the way to go.

Yep...been there too.

Oh, man. We should have a drink together and reminisce about the joyful times we've had with these rotten things...
