new to diesels truck was ideling just died wont restart no code ford tech said needs motor wont pump to filter tech held something down and stil no oil

I would say it's critical that the metal part that was found be identified. Hopefully the tech that found it didn't just toss it in the trash.
This This is a link to powerstrokehelp.com where Bill describes a lifter head doing a bunch of damage (disclaimer: I know a lot don't like Bill, I have zero opinion on the guy, just posting the vid for illustration).
Some other part might have broken that's not as catastrophic to repair.
Or, if a part was left inside the engine after some work was done maybe you'd have some recourse (maybe like a small screw or washer or something that wasn't noticed).
I think you need to identify that piece to make a good decision on what to do next. Best of luck. I hope it all works out good for you to be sure!!
