Ok, I thought I would be able to find this but after a ton of searching I failed.
I have a SRW full floating 10.5 axle from a 2001 F350. I want to go from SRW to DRW. Whats the same whats different? I know the rotors are different I think they are just set back further. But what about the lug bolts. The other duallies I worked on had to peice lug nuts, one peice holds on the inner tire, then you slip the outer tire on and put the other part of the lug nut on. Is it the same on these duallies.
So my plan was to maybe replace the rotor if need be and then get some dually rims and the proper lug nuts. Couldn't find any different lug nuts for duallies.
I also could have sworn that I saw some kits you could buy that had spacers, lug nuts etc to do the conversion, but looking for them now they have mysteriously disappeared
Yeah that's what I had seen before and it makes a little more sense now. They have a one peice lug nut which must mean that the dualies only have a one peice lug nut I guess.
It looks like to me, that the only reason you need the adapters is to space the wheel off the rotor. So if I just change to the duallie rotor will I not need the adapters? But then maybe my calipers would be offset from my rotor if I did that.
Sorry for all the questions, I got my rear end out of a self pull junkyard and there weren't any wheels on it. The plan is to put the rearend in a 31 ford AA and I'm trying to make it work while still keeping it looking like the dual wheeled truck it used to be.
I think I'm also having difficulty cause of the odd original tires that I really like. They are 600-20 which seems to be a really skinny tire and I'd like to replicate that. The closest I can find to that is 19.5x6 or 19.5x6.75 but then I can't find them with the 8x170 lug bolt pattern. I want them to be plane looking like the original budds. I'll post a pick of the budds later.
