Starting troubles now something else?

97 f150 4.6 v8 4x4 supercab

the problem started when the engine did not want to turn over engine. It went a half turn and stopped. No t-t-t-t-t sound like a low voltage signal would give. After a while of me trying this the starter would not turn at all and all I heard was loud popping instead by where the starter solenoid is. Replaced the solenoid. Still loud popping. Thinking it was the starter (original) I replaced it. It started fine ran for a good 30 minutes sitting at a stop light the engine died and it was back to only turning over half-way then stopping. Is this an ignition switch problem or something else? A bad ground? Both battery and alternator were replaced about 6 weeks ago.

Thanks in advance.

Start by looking the starter cables over very well...it might be a corrosion issue on the ends?? and yes check the grounds....it could also be a bad/weak solenoid

Found the problem. The a/c clutch bearing failed, locked up and prevented the engine from turning over. Once I. Removed the belt the engine spun freely. Lesson learned. I have been hearing some squeeling every once in a while from the belt drive. Starter got fried as a result. Oh well, live and learn.
