I have an 88 Ranger 2.9v-6 std-trans. My parking brake actuator broke and the junk yards in my area don't have any rangers that old. Does anyone know if other years of rangers can be used, hopefully newer models?
As far as I know parking brake actuators from '83-'89 Rangers should all be interchangeable. These parts are very difficult to come by but some larger Ford parts e-tailers may have them. Check out 1988 Ford Ranger Parts or autozone.com to see if they carry the said part. Good luck with your repairs!
I found out that the part number was updated to: F1TZ-2780-A which is a 91 part number so I'm assuming a 91 will work, but you know what they say when you assume! One after that was a F4TZ-2780-A does anyone know if this will work. I cant find one for anything...
