Many years ago, I remember my uncle's 76 Ranger/Explorer had a keyed parking brake release. I don't know if you needed to unlock it each time or it was "lockable".
Does any remember these, have one or knows if they're still available?
I would say NO on that, you are confusing the park brake release handle (far left) with a lockable hood release that was right next to it. Also not all trucks had it as it was an option.
Here is a none lockable one that I think is from a newer vehicle....and I am sure there was NOT an lockable park brake option.

Keep in mind the 2nd one does not have the hood latch you need to go with the cable. The locking hood latch used on 1973/79 F100/350's & 1978/79 Bronco's is the same ... The locking hood cable is the same as 1975/80 Ford Granada/Mercury Monarch
