As some of you may already know from my previous posts, I bought 2000 Ranger with rear half of the frame cut and welded.
The mechanics who did this did terrible job of putting things where they belong. I rerouted wiring harness and rebuilt EVAP lines, but cannot figure out what is the correct route for parking brake cable.
Currently some part of the parking brake cable is sitting on the leaf spring.
It may also be missing some mounting brackets or clips.
Does anyone have picture or diagram showing parking brake cable routing?
This is how it is on my truck.
Looks like those idiot mechanics mounted the bracket backward and lost spring.
I will have to unbolt leaf spring to fix it.
Also found out that there is a tensioning spring inside pedal mechanism, which needs locked in place before removing the cable. Mechanics obviously did not do that and now there are no tension on the cable. Probably have to remove the mechanism to tension it again.
Does anyone know how long is that spring? Is it high tension?
