Even though you hear fuel pump have you tried removing air intake at throttle body and giving it a shot of starting fluid to see if it starts and dies when spray is used up? Could have a fuel pressure or delivery problem (gas filter) issue . Is the antitheft light flashing on the no start? If so try your spare key to see if it works with that. Have you tried cranking it with pedal to floor to see if it starts? Your warranty should cover any repairs needed to fix the problem although not sure about the towing portion.

Powersmoked: Maybe he wanted some ideas on the cause prior to the trip to the dealer in case it was something he could deal with on his own and not be stranded without a vehicle.

turns out it was a shorted fuse for the ignition coil/capacitor, next question why would this happen?

exactly, it only has the limited warranty which will not cover the $200 towing fee to the dealership

Good job investigating to find the cause. Why it would happen I can't offer any ideas. Sorry. Maybe one of the more knowledgeable posters will offer some suggestions. Even though it is fixed you might want to take it to the dealer, tell them what happened and what you found ,to have them troubleshoot components such as ignition coil, wiring and other related components. Should all be covered under warranty and no charge to you. Even if they checked it and found no cause the complaint would be in your files for future reference and to cover you if it reocurred out of warranty.
