We're kinda doing that exact thing, just taking the long road.

Once Mrs. becomes acclimated to the newer Escape, we'll probably sell the 01.

...we think...

It might be a few weeks for Mrs. to adjust, but if they're patient, we can talk.

Prices must pretty pretty drastic 'round KC. We picked up our 05' XLT w/70k miles for $7,300. We'd gladly sell it to him for 10 grand, even has 1/3 of the miles that the other ones have!

What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting with your new one in comparison to the old one?

Oddly enough, the new one (automatic) is getting BETTER mileage than the old one. (5 speed)

Sales gerbil says it's because of newer automatic transmission technology. Both are four cylinder engines, the 01 gets about 23 mpg, the 08 is getting about 26.

Woot!

Yup, the newer ones have 6-speed autos now. The wifey has been eyeing the newer ones for further down the road and I was hoping closer to 30 mpg's with the 4 cylinders

Right now we are getting 24 with our 3.0/auto combo, I'm pretty happy about the gas mileage that it pulls off while being an SUV

Love the looks of the new ones though, SHARP!
