Speedo and tach died? then came back to life?

Fri am taking the hoodlums to school 15deg ouside trk fully warmed up speedo reading 10mph Im doing 40mph.(tach fine) It snapped out of it after a few miles. I didnt notice anything Sat. but i was in 4wheel due to snow not fast and not far. Mon am taking hoodlums to school no tach or 2-3 rpm at times no speedo at all while again doing 30-40. Stopped at a light I threw it in N and shut it off and restarted ......presto all is good worked all day since I started and stopped 3 locations one long enough to have the tempsn drop down to 50 ect. What am in for or do I need to look for?

No, classic symptom of a BCM emergency power down from low battery voltage.

Check for a bad / weak / alternator / battery / voltage.

there was a rash of bad instrument clusters notably in 05. It is a phantom experience that will come and go. You could be parked with the key off and it would show 50 mph. or be driving down the freeway and see half readings on the tach and double on the speedo. If you are stopped and it shows a reading, then you'll know .
