from 1994.4-2003??

aside from turbo and intakes.

are heads cams rods all the same and are they interchangeable?? I know in later years the rods were powdered and the earlier ones were steel. And the mechanical fuel pump engnes have a extra lobe on cam or something???

I made a big post on this awhile back. I will go back and find it. It lists every difference in the engines that I know of from the intakes down to the piston rings. Stand by!!

The heads, cam, and rods are interchangable, but obviously to run an SD cam you will need an electronic fuel system.

Link to good info on the differences between engines-- https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...d-engines.html

i was only wondering about 7.3 strokers?? So the pmr engines have better blocks??? and something about journals not havng a hole in them???? reason was i see from time to time early 94-95 engines going for a song. I'd just like to have a few spares for my other trucks. I'm not into all that perfomance stuff but i like the idea of forged rods better than PMR rods.

so all heads and cams are the same??

Heads are all the same.
Small changes in the block in 97- crank changed at the same time IIRC
Cam is different starting in early 99 (no lobe for the mechanical fuel pump)
HPOP is different starting late 99
injectors - 94.5-95 trucks all the same, 96-97 49 state same as 94.5-95, 96-97 CA emissions and early 99 are different, late 99-03 are different
Changes to the turbo in early 99 and again in late 99's
PMR's starting in 00-01
Accessory drive is completely different starting in early 99

That's her in a nut shell...
