tempature sensor?

4.6L.what is the sensor in the intake manifold right behind the alt? what i think is the temp sensor is just to the left (looking under the hood) of the alt. what is the other? i dont have a pic right now, but i can get one later. thanks.

from whay i was able to find out... there are two temp sensors on my truck. is this true, are they the same?

One sensor sends temperature information to the ECM and the other controls the dash gauge.

'97-'98 used a pair of ECT sensors. One for the PCM and one for the gauge in the cluster.
I can't remember which one is for which item, but usually one will have a green plastic connector,and the other will be grey.
