Hey whats up. I have a 2001 expedition and during the summer the windshield started leaking i got it fix a month ago and it hasnt been leaking and my passenger side floor hasn't been wet and with the leaked it was forever wet when it rained. But on the passenger side if you life up the floor panel its a wire right there and it has completely fried and the water from the rain was making it smoke so i black tapped it good for the time being untill i got the windshield fixed..whats the name of the wire running on the floor next to the carpet? Could that be my reason to my dome lights not working and my outside keyless entry buttons?
let me know kind of long but wanna give good details. Thanks!
there all kind of colors wires i think its 4 cords running to the back of the truck when you pull the floor panel up on the passenger..there fryed..
whats the name of the whole cords? or where can i get replacments ?
An inexpensive repair would be to replace the section of wire that is bad. Just do it safely by soldering and use shrink wrap. It'll be as good as new. You could also go to a salvage yard and get the wire loom to replace the whole assembly, that might be a really involved job starting at the dash board and ending at the rear door. Buying from Ford will be VERY expensive and to me out of the question. If it is even available any longer.
You will need to take a look at the wires and post the colors with the stripe colors to get a more definitive answer. Your OP was a bit vague except for the door locks so I don't know. You could just describe the part and the location to the parts man and he should have pics in the catalog to help you.
