1992 Ranger WILL NOT start

get a .99 cent spray bottle and fill with gas, and take the plastic intake tube off the throttle body, and spay some gas in the intake, and see if it starts up. If it does, I would say its a fuel problem. I apologize for starting the 2.9 thing. Its just that I had a 92 with the 3.0 and the 3.0 was suppose to replace the 2.9, but obviously they phased them out while also installing new 3.0s.

Did you check the inertia shut off switch?
Never mind I read where you did check it.
It's gotta be fuel related. or timing, recheck spark plug wires and distributor, might need rebuild or replace distributor.
