After reading through this thread, I did notice you got some injector codes. Multiple times. I would go back to the UVCH's. When the plug starts coming loose, it is from the inside of the valve covers. The plug doesn't back out evenly. It will back out one end more than the other. So you can lose 1 or 2 injectors on one side. Not all at once. Even if you unplug the harness from the outside you will still see a difference as you are removing power to the remaining injectors that are still firing. Pull the valve covers and check the plugs on the inside. The gasket has a passthrough built into it. then one plug outside and another inside. The inside one is usually the culprit. Once you button it back up, clear all codes and see what you get then.
I agree with BillyBob. Also you mention more than once that you do not think it is the CPS because you once had a bad CPS and it is not the same. When a CPS goes bad....the symptoms are NOT always the same.
I'll break open the valve covers on Saturday if I don't have to work. I've been putting in over 100hrs a week on average right now. I'll update when I pull them.
Ok, I ran it for about 30 minutes and checked Rotational Velocity Change on no. 8. After it warmed up it ran about 4 to 6%. I ran Cylinder Contribution Test and it threw the same code as earlier. It smoked white the whole time and gradually got alittle better as it warmed up. The more RPMs the more white smoke. It also threw something about a Exhaust Back Pressure Valve Range when I ran the KOER Test. I'm thinking maybe some bad injector o-rings or fuel delivery issues. Any advice before I pull the Valve Covers Off? Also, how long does it take to pull the valve covers, I will be working in a shop that I have to have the truck out when it closes.
I did valve covers,gp's,harnesses, for the first time couple weeks ago,I would say 2-4 hours per side depending on mechanical experience and work to be done.If you follow the instructions on the RHN page i is not bad at all just time consuming.

Ok about to go over to the shop. Here is the plan: Pull Valve covers and check electrical. Run truck to see if all the Injectors are spitting oil. Should I pull the #8? Would poor fuel pressure cause the white smoke? From my experience, white smoke means oil is burning. Any more last minute thoughts before I pull everything off. Also I'm thinking of replacing O-rings in the injectors. Good idea?
It was upon further investigation. I guess I'll check the in tank filter next time I get to work on it. Will update more info when I'm not using a phone to post.
Ok so I didn't get a chance to update Saturday. So here goes... I pulled the valve covers and checked the inside plugs and ran it with the covers off. All the injectors seem to be spitting oil like they should. Buzz test sound good. I'm thinking of checking the fuel pressure this weekend. Right now I'm at a loss. I just need to rule out fuel pressure and then I'll swap a CPS. One thing I did notice is my water temp was reading around 290 to 350, so I think that sensor is bad but I doubt it's the cause. I will check the CPS as well. I'll hunt down a place to go get one and swap it. Any new ideas?
The water temp reading is WRONG. There isn't a water temp sensor in these trucks. You have to go by engine oil temp to get the temperature of the motor.
I would really just pull the filter and see how quickly it refills the bowl. I'm betting it takes a while. Also, how much fuel is in the truck? under 1/4 tank?
