Where is my 2nd oxygen sensor??
I run a 95 F-150, 5.0, auto, 4wd. I took my Ford to Autozone because i was having trouble with it when starting. To make a long story short they pulled 3 codes. 2 where for o2 sensors and another for some type of error for a truck with manual tranny. They said I need two o2 sensors. I managed to change the one on the y pipe but failed to find the other........any ideas??? Thanks

I own a 96 and I have three. One in each exhaust manifold and then the one in the exhaust Y-pipe. Before you spend a fortune on O2 sensors, take out your originals and soak them in gasoline for a while and blow them out good. Put them back in (make sure they're dry!) and try again. Sometimes works. Don't forget to disconect your battery as the KAM (Keep Alive Memory) will sometimes still think there's still a problem even if you've fixed it.

Technically there is only one true oxygen sensor in OBD-II (and older OBDI) trucks. The exhuast manifold sensors are actually readers for the computer telling it how rich/lean the mixture coming out of the exhuast, the o2 sensor tells the computer if the cat converter is burning them off accurately or not.
From some of the ones I've worked on, the best way to find a fault with them is with a multi-meter.
Is your's a California truck? If it isn't, you don't have the manifold sensors, just the regular sensor.
