They need work to make work for most application. the small combustion chamber is the prefered over open chamber and these are positive stop rockers. The one advantage is the open chamber tend to outflow a closed chamber because of valve shrouding. but thats about it. MPG heads sell a intake/exhaust port plate drop in from scott for these heads. Scary simple!! Definelty a learing curve if you learn what it takes make work and you will understands heads better than the average joe instead of just buying a set that just works. I want to know what makes things work instead of just accepting. maybe I'm wrong but try to get the most out of what I have at hand.
I'm not sure, they may have redesigned the material thickness around the valve bowl & made it thinner ? It's a shame, they have a nice port and polish job on them and a new seat job. The chambers are polished up pretty nice too & the guides are good. They would need milled just a little cause of a few slips with a die grinder, nothing bad but it's noticeable. A .010" cut would clean them up nice.

I think a good little mudhole truck head if you restrict the lower part of the intakes. their big as you know. definelty would go to a bigger valve like 2.190. these heads will work but their are better heads out their. How much do you want to spend?? I know people will talk against and for. i'm for if you can do a lot of the work yourself on the porting like only touch the tops of the ports not the btm. get with MPG heads and scott has done some pretty good work/info with these heads and might possibly work for you. but most people are better off with a 2v head. the positive stop rocker system is another problem to get these big ports working. big heads need some valve lift to make big ports to work. also some cubic inch never hurt either. depends on application mainly!
No, I'm not interested in these heads. I want rid of them. They have been around here for far too long and if no one wants them then I'm afraid I'm going to scrap them.
it's been suggested that those are the best to start with for SuperStock or other racing because of the meat available in the valve bowls that large valve heads don't have. while machining for 4V valves, a talented porter can use that extra material to create swirl as the A/F mixture fills the cylinder, making more power than factory large valve heads. while i'm not yet offering to pay shipping, i wouldn't toss them for no other reason either...
heads that flow the most CFM are not the ones that make the best power
