one quick question

I've been having problems with my truck again and I feel like its a starter. It seems to have good batteries with charge but when I try to turn over it gives it like two slow cranks then clicks. would this just be a starter that is starting to go bad. also i noticed right before i shut it off that it was not running at normal battery voltage while i was driving, would a starter do that.

The thing that i thought was weird was that when i was driving with the lights on it said that the batteries were a lot less but when i went to start it the batteries looked fine? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Check your voltage while the engine is idling with a volt meter at the battery... should be around 14 volts if the alternator is working properly.

Sounds like batteries are weak to me. I would get them checked as well as your alternator.

Clicks could also mean ur starter solenoid is going out, if your batteries and starter itself check out the solenoid could be the culprit.

Two slow cranks then that clicking noise 99% of the time is weak/bad batteries and/or corroded connections.

First, I would check are the connections at the battery and at the starter.

alright i am going to check all that out now thanks for the ideas i'll let you all know if the selenoid connection was the problem. it shouldn't be the batteries or alt. because they are all new, i got them all last week. Also, thanks for everyones input on here you all have gotten me through some sticky situations.

Or with the batteries also, just because they are new doesn't mean they are 100%. They could have a defect from the factory. Been there...dealt with that!!

Is testing the voltage on the starter relay just like checking the glow plug relay. Just ground it then test the posts?
