"New" old wheels

Picked up 3 Mopar 15; 5 X 4.5 wheels yesterday with 3.75" backspace, to get more distance between rear wheels and box. Fit them up today and it looks like they are going to give e the extra clearance I need. I'm using Explorer diff and will fit up these wheels to the front tomorrow to see if they will look right w. If so I'll get 2 more for the front as the wheel from my donar don't have the same lugs for hubcaps. I'll need 9" hubcaps as opposed to the 10" of the 1990 Ford wheels. I'm going to sandblast them and drop them for powder coat, if the cost isn't outrageous. Is it worth to powder coat or will the tire shop end up scuffing them when they fit the tires ?

May put out a plea for someone to Photo shop for me as I am considering wheel colors of body color (Sheridan Blue, Fender Black or Grill Tan.

Weather has been good

The fall weather has been great; helps with the yard work, finishing the basement window install I had cut in; as well as truck projects.

"Aired" out the truck yesterday by driving it out of the garage to check new wheels on hubs (it moves under its own power, complete with hoses stuck in gas can). I hope to sandblast wheels before going back to work, then get the painted or powder coated.

The major work is completed, now a lot of "small" stuff, wiring and instrument gauges over the winter.

Match to rear wheels

Measured up my front wheels in relation to fenders; roughly 3-4 inches tire to fender (4.5" backspace); on rears I am using the Chrysler 3.75 wheels. I will go with 4.5" backspace wheels on front but...

The Mopar wheels have 9" hub for hubcaps; the current front wheels have 10" . Anyone know what year Ford wheels 15", 5 X 4.5 will have the same 9" knobby, hub thingies for hubcaps ? I want to go with baby moons all around on the painted steel wheels.

I'm picking up my son's alloys from the powdercoater's tomorrow. Personally I prefer high performance paint, but until it gets scratched or chipped, powdercoating looks nice, too. I would talk to the tire shop before giving them the wheels, make them understand you care about chips etc. Most shops are aware that people care about alloys, but may not understand stock steel wheels are loved too.
