I originally left the valve off, but today I hooked it back up and left it laying in the valley. I put about 250 miles on it today towing about 2200 lbs. And it stayed at a pretty consistent 20 degree difference with a couple 30 degree spikes. I did not hear the fan at all today. I know there are several variables but when should I expect my fan to come on?

Was the flush done before or after the new oil cooler was installed? I hope this is not the case, but if it was done after, it is possible that the new cooler functioned as an expensive metal coolant filter and trapped all the crap that the VC-9 flush rinsed loose from the coolant passages.

it was done after, but it was previously flushed not too long ago when the egr cooler was replaced. when it was flushed this time it was really clean. It was pretty much coming out clear from the start.

It's possible ... I had one fail after less than 2k miles. The one I have in now is holding up so far.
