actually, i get just over 16 loaded not sure unloaded. i dont even remember the last time ive been able to drive my truck without a trailer behind it. and that was with 37's, 4.10 gears and overdrive never going over 60mph. went from 12mpg n/a to 16.7mpg turbo. sounds like a fuel problem for sure, but while your at it, check for boost/exhaust leaks.

boost or no boost though 6 mpg lol ouch!
i think my absolute worst with my a/c was running....hang on i'll look for sure lol...... 12.24 and i see i had two problems - the a/c was running and my tire pressure was low in the duals and the front some that tank.
my worst tank ever was still twice 6 mpg.
these are not 460's.
im currently @ 15.21 MPG over the course of 31 tanks.

big bed
dually
hauling well over 1 ton often
(those are biggest fuel economy negatives.you'd need to check my garage for all things iv done to help.)
i would start by inspecting the fuel and air filter.the exhaust-mainly looking for a plugged up muffler.
id then jack up each tire and roll them by hand to see if any brakes are locked up.
inspect all fluids.
depending on the mileage id be doing a compressing test, followed by ip and injectors test or replacement if more 100k miles on them.
tire pressure is also important.
engine timing is important, and required after ip and or injectors are changed.checking the timing every year is also a good idea,or at least every 20-30k miles.
does it sound like a powerstoke engine with lots of rattle when you first start it and then quite down a lot?
(even if going by ear isn't good enough.its still supposed to be good enough for at least 10mpg i should think. )
you need to be sure your odo is reading the miles driven accurately.if not,it's all a wild guess.check this first.
