Not at all, they are just a better built and better performing shock, in my opinion. I think Rancho gets a lot more out mileage out of their name than their actual performance.
I've had both and now have and prefer adjustable ranchos. The bilsteins are stiff shocks. I prefer the softer ride with the ranchos but still have the stiffness a few clicks away. Best of both worlds.
Bilstein 5100s for an F250...I had them on my 350 and they were far better than the stock ranchos (yeah rancho make better than those but no faith when they'll churn out shocks that bad)
the stock ranchos that come on fx4s arent really real ranchos. i believed they're built and valved to ford specs. so i wouldnt give up on them because of that!
