Sinister EGR Delete kit

Sinister EGR Delete kit
I was bought a 4in MBRP turbo back exhaust and a sinister egr delete kit for my truck as a gift while i am deployed. Is it something that i can do as a Hobby mechanic or does it need a professional installation. I am very knowledgable in mechanics, hell i am an aircraft mechanic for the USAF. Does the exhaust and delete kit really make that big of a difference in responce power and gas mileage? Thanks for any input and if you have any other suggestions shoot i am all ears.

I can't tell you about the EGR delete install, the exhaust is pretty easy. I did mine myself and you have WAY more mechanic experience than me. It will help to have a helper hold the uppipe from below while you tighten it to the turbo - that is really the only tough part about the exhaust.
The main reason to do the exhaust is lower EGTs (esp if you tow or tune it) and it looks cool. I don't think the exhaust by itself adds power.
I don't know enough about the EGR delete to comment - it is more controversial and a much bigger job than the exhaust.

LOL--my next door neighbor is an aircraft mechanic and he wouldn't even begin to try to tackle the EGR, but I'm sure you can do it. The exhaust is no step at all for a stepper.
The EGR delete is alllll about the year model of your truck and if you have emissions testing to deal with, so be sure and check that aspect before you do it. I would AT LEAST leave the EGR valve in place just for the wiring/PCM aspect of it if for no other reason.

for the most part the intake gaskets are reuseable, unless damaged.
vc9 is an iron cleaner. its used to flush the cooling system to remove rust and scale.
its all ablut maintace with this stuff.
I have the sinister kit on my enigne. I will make one suggestion about it. do not use there little blue silicon hose. order a new one from the factory and use it. much better setup.

almost too bad you already have your egr delete kit...I bought the MKM 6.0 solutions pkg which was the Sinister EGR delete kit, oil cooler and gaskets. The oil cooler and most all the gaskets were Ford parts. I also changed out my bolts on my up-tubes with factory stock bolts (not included in the kit, they were aftermarket)...there was a little sticker shock as the nuts for the bolts were $6 ea. at the dealership. Have some diapers (oil soak pads) or rags avail. too if you do your oil cooler...I took my time and cleaned my engine while doing it...one weekend stripped it down, and another weekend to put it back together. Not too bad of a job, just time consuming if you haven't done it before...

Yes i did the cat and Muffler delete. So i need 2 up pipe bolts and nuts from ford? and i need the little blue hose from ford as well am i right? Can you tell me the actual name of that hose so i can have my fiancee order it for me? Is the cleaning of the oil cooler pretty self explanitory or will it be in my clymers manual
