I can't wait to test drive one of these EB's! I am not even in the market for one hahaha. I have 6.4 250... however, my father is debating selling his (cough) Honda Ridgeline. The EB's dramatic MPG claims has got his interest. Hopefully he pulls the trigger. To the OP good luck with the new rig when it comes in!

When will these things be on the lot???
Perhaps the dramatically better looks would also interest him?
I went to the Test drive event at Texas Motor Speedway 2 weeks ago and they were saying Late 1st qtr. for ecoboost availability. I was all set to get the 6.2 V8 until I drove the Ecoboost. It was unreal the performance, no turbo lag at all! The had a little drag strip where you could drive all the new powertrains, and the Ecoboost blew all of them away. The 6.2 did sound cool and felt very powerfull, but the Ecoboost was fast, smooth and felt like it had all the power you could want. I was sold , it will be worth the weight. Will still get one even with the 26 gallon tank.

I drove them there as well and liked it. However it does have a slight turbo lag, nothing like my 6.0 diesel but it is there nevertheless. Without having a stop watch, I would say my diesel is from 1 to 1.5 seconds, while the ecoboost is .5 or less
I also have a 6.0 diesel, can't stand it due to the turbo lag and can't wait to get rid of it. It seems forever for that thing to get moving. I really did not sense ANY lag from ecoboost, when i stepped on the gas , it went!

It's there, you just didn't notice it. All turbo's have to have lag. It's like a catch 22 you need to turbo for the power but can't have the power until the engine is running and making enough exhaust gas to get the turbo spinning. On our 6.0's it's about 1500-1800 rpm that's why they are gutless wonders at low rpms. The 6.4 improved on that by adding two turbos, a smaller one to make boost quicker and then the larger one. The ecoboost has a two very small ones- one for each bank of cylinders.
Also, if you don't romp on the go pedal hard on the ecoboost you won't feel it

That's true for the 6.0 as well. I have a 64mm turbo on my truck and the stock one is 58mm for the later models. I have zero lag for the most part, but I also "roll into the throttle" instead of just stomping on the throttle.
That's where I was couple of years ago with my wife's Expedition. Four payments remaining and then I'm in the zone.
I have 4 years to go, or several hundred overtimes... sniff. Or 1 lulu of an accident... which by the way sounds like a really crappy way to get a new truck.
Just as ps- @ tseekins I just never want to go back to double car payments again if I can help it. It always felt like I could use that loot for something else. We only got my wife's edge last year as it was better for her to have a newer car then her old escort, plus I was in Iraq and could not really work on the escort for her. Plus now I have truely come to love heated leather seats... Now I just have to wait for the chance at an eco...
