460 Coil Selection??

Can someone point me in the right direction for a new coil for my 93 EFI 460? I have been looking at:

1) Accel Super Coil Part #140012

2) MSD Street Fire Part # 5527

3) MSD High Perf Part # 8227

4) OEM

I already bought MSD Cap and Rotor and new wires.

Thanks!!

heard good things about the street fire but really... the coil is basically the "dumbest" part of the ignition. Wires, plugs, plug indexing, distributor, msd unit..... etc, this is where you will make or break your spark. A good coil is a good coil so im sure they are all comparable over a stock unit. IMHO...for a stock motor, a stock coil is just fine anyway.

+1 Any "good" coil should be fine on a street motor.

FYI, I've used the Street Fire line of parts in my last couple of projects including my F350. Good stuff for the price. I've also ran an Accel coil in my Mustang II for about 15 years now so I know they'll last.

Many of the Bronco guys have been finding the MSD products are short lived. It appears they have lost some quality control in the last 12 months. My MSD coil I installed last year is working good at this point. I would lean towards the Accel coil if I had to buy one these days.

After some other research... I decided to go with the MSD High Performance (Blaster TFI) 8227. Some of the MSD stuff is made in China now. Like most of the Street Fire stuff. The more expensive MSD coil is still made in the USA. Gotta be better quality. I have the new distribtor cap already... just need to find a good set of wires tomorrow.
