hi i have a 1979 ford F250 4x4 and i have been trying to identify the front and rear axle and havent had any luck..but tonight i scraped off a bunch of dirt on the rear axle and on the bottom right hand side near the diff..it had the nember 60 on it..i printed off a axle differential identification chart and it looks exactly like the dana 44,60,70,and 80..how do i tell exactly which axle i have?? did these come stock in any of this year of trucks??and if it is a dana 60..how do i tell what the front axle is? the same way? i tried to scrape some mud and grease off the front axle but i'll have to wait for daylight for that
