Latest update. So I called the people I bought the long block from to explain to them that they had made a mistake only to find out that the tech who assembled the long block questioned the head that he used. His boss told him that it would be fine and to use it anyway. The tech believes that a cracked head is responsible for my latest headache. However they have agreed to correct the issue as long as I bring the entire truck to them, at no charge to me other than the cost of getting the truck to them. This should be good for a laugh after I explained what the truck was doing and the tech told me about the possibility of a cracked head, knowing that I live 4 1/2 hours from his shop, he then asks me and I quote " Can you drive it here " Some peoples kids I tell ya.
So where ya located Lee? FTE is pretty infamous for supporting other members so you never know...there may be someone in your area with a flatbed willing to take a road trip for just the cost of fuel.
Latest update,
So... I get them the truck they say that it is not a blown head gasket that the injector port is cracked. they get that fixed and now it is giving the same problems it had before the engine replacement. The whole reason behind replacing the engine was number 1 and 8 cylinders were not firing. Replaced the injectors and 8 was still dead come to find out that the piston in 8 was destroyed so ordered a new long block and now they are telling me that numbers 1 and 8 are not firing. Can anyone say De'ja'Vue. It has new internal and external and main wiring harness'. Anybody have any thoughts????
Is it still at the shop in Tempe?
Is there a way to ohm those injectors and get some readings? Since they're new, they should all be close to the same. if they ohm, then maybe o-rings.
you'd think the shop would have all the answers.
That Dude on Utube seems to know his stuff- follow the links: YouTube - powerstrokehelp's Channel
he gives less than accurate advice as if it's fact and sells DVDs detailing repair procedures that are wholly inaccurate.
a membership on FTE is a much better investment. I will admit his videos are entertaining but will lead those who are inexperienced with PSDs down some very wrong paths.
