Hey Guys! I got my fox steering stabilizer today and its a 099A wich is supposed to be for the superduty. The only way to situate it on the truck is to mount the rod end on the steering knuckle (where the big end of the stock one goes) and the big end of the fox wont mount to the middle part of the tie rod? I dont know where to go from here except an aftermarket mount that goes on the tie rod side? Anyone done this install with the fox setup?
I'm not sure about the Fox setup, but I just installed a Rancho RS5000 Stabilizer. I am running stock suspension with no lift, but in order to get the stabilizer to work I had to purchase the mounting kit for it. It mounts to the truck normally, but the tir rod bracket was different. You might wanna see if there is a mounting kit for that bad boy, and if possible, use the Rancho. Seems like a very well built mount (not that there's much too it though).
I got 1. I tried to set it up like ryans picture of his grey truck like on the pic of his front end but there is no way it will work with the stock bracket. I tried spacers and bushings ,etc.. It does not look like it will work. I also noticed it is a charged shock and rebounds on its own. Will that make my steering pull or what? I am a little frustrated ovewr this thing. I guess i will wait till next week when i an see ryans truck in person or get something from SDHQ when i get there. I saw a bracket that would work for me on the dynatrac site that comes with there superduty combo kit. I e-mailed them yesturday but no reply yet for there bracket.
if it is as you said, "a charged shock", and rebounds on its own it makes me tend to think that they sent you the wrong shock. a steering stabilizer shock should not rebound. if you compress it or extend it, it should stay where you put it. i would call whoever you bought it from and have them double check to make sure it is the right part number. give them the part number on the shock itself rather than the number on the box, as it could have been labeled wrong. let us know how it turns out.
