Cleaning an AirRaid Intake filter
The guy that owned the truck previously had a K&N cleaning kit in a box of parts with some spare fuel filters etc. Is this the best route?
Thanks for helping on a stupid question

This is really a bump.
You clean and oil it just like a kn filter. bang off the dirt, spray it with cleaner on the dirty side, let sit for 2-5 min then wash it out backwards. the dirt will come right off.
spray a light coat of oil after its dry, i use a light airpressure to help dry it initially, then just leave it in the sun. LIGHT coat of oil, then let that "dry" as well. it dont really matter, there is no mass air meter for the oil to gum up on. Check the fitment of the filter to the airbox, mine fit perfect, but i still used the foam window strip stuff to help seal every tiny crack the stock box had. Its a great filter according to my OA. Very little silicone in my oil (and no dusting of the intake pipe to turbo)
I had a K&N before in my old VW VR6 and blew through a couple MAF sensors in my day..........don't even get me started on the VR6 coil pack....but I digress.
I have an AirRaid specific box in my rig, which is nice I guess. I'll go through the cleaning and recharging thing.........at least K&N makes a nice kit to use, shows they are good for something afterall.
