Has anybody ever used Super tech synthetic in their powerstroke? Always been leary of the Super tech brand name but weekend Walmart has this stuff for sale and was just wondering if this is good for our powerstrokes? Wanting to shift to synthetic mainly for winter use. I was going with the Rotella 5w-40 then I saw this stuff on sale. Any users out there or is this just not the right oil for our trucks. Thanks in advance......Maxx
I believe SuperJunk is recycled oil. I didn't even trust running it in any small engines we have around the house ie: Pressure washer, Lawn mower, exp not my dirt bike, that was Bel-Ray only.
But any who, I have never used anything but Rotella 15w-40. When Oil is the most important thing when it comes to longevity on our trucks its well worth it to pay the extra $10-20 now rather then to be replacing a motor prematurely for a few extra thousand.
Just recently I have been going to Tractor Supply and buying a 5 gallon bucket of Rotella for $50-55. Its cheaper then buying it in quarts, gallons or 2.5 Gallon increments.
I ran Supertech syn in my gas burner and had 543k on the original engine before my PSD. Their oil is made by one of the major oil companies, so with proper oil/filter changes, there should be no problems using the Wally oil.
I do not think they make a syn oil for our diesels, though. May be wrong, but have looked.
I believe you are correct about not making it for the powerstroke. I took a second look this afternoon at wally world and it does not appear to be powerstroke applicable. So back to original plan of Rotella Synthetic. thanks Guys!
I see you are an alternative fuel guy. I also make biodiesel in my garage from WVO. Had very good success. What do you mean when you say you mix the non synthetic in your fuel??Never heard of burning motor oil in any percentage? Always wondered about that though. Maxx
I run whatever my work decides to use they used to get Delo for the loaders and cats but now it's Mobile. Thought about synthetic but All I have to do now is pay for a filter so I change my oil every 3000.
