Well....... finally i put in my new update fuel pressure kit in (blue spring)WOW my fuel pressure was 55 at idle and 49 WOT now it's 68 at idle and 62 WOT.I'm guessing it's that high because it's new.But ether way life is good now
I've got to ask. What is the reason for changing out the spring? Much better upgrade over stock? How do you know if you have an issue...I know newbie question...

The issue is over time the OEM fuel pressure regulator spring allows the pressure to drop too low...causing damage to the injectors. Anything below 45 psi is death to the injectors...the higher the better. But there is a such thing as too high (above 70-75 is too high). Thus you need to check the fuel pressure before you replace the spring or even adjust the pressure.
My local Ford dealer just soaked me for $100.07 for the blue spring upgrade kit. I asked if he could maybe sell it to me for $70.00 like all the others I've seen and got a resounding NO! So I proceeded to elevate my voice and quoted Bill Burr with "HOW BIG DOES YOUR*&^%$# YAGHT GOTTA BE?" So it goes, some people suck..............and some swallow. Going to pick up my new scanguageII Peace
I ordered mine from psdparts.com on Saturday and received it today, $58.60 and free shipping. I will be installing it as soon as another project gets out of the garage!! I did try the dealer and they wanted $89 and wouldn't budge so I went the online route.

Not sure if y'all are aware of this or not...but forum sponsor RiffRaff has both kits on his site:
Ok so I installed the kit. Took the boy and myself for a ride and we both noticed improved performance right away. Headin back from work yesterday and it seemed to slowly lose power all the way home. This morning headed to work( Yup on mothers day, yup it was snowing here in Colorado, and yup working outside) and comin home tonite I could barley keep it going 45 mph. Got home changed out new motorcraft fuel filters got a half a block away and it died. and wont start.... still gotta be at work in 9 hrs. any one got any ideas?
