I have a 1985 Bronco with the 4.9l I6 in it and am about to do the conversion since I can't get it going right as is (sensor problems). Anyway, i just want to make sure my shopping list is in order.
Here is what I need to do conversion right?
(all off a pre-84 I6)
-Distributor
-Ignition Coil
-Ignition Module
-Wiring Harness
-Carb off a pre-84
-Coil wire
-Wire that runs from Elec. Chock to alternator in case elec choke is working on new carb.
Trying to do the same thing to my 85 f150 4wd I6 300 are you in ar. i'm in mena ar. trying to find anything hear worth using is next to imposable. As there are no junk yards within 100 mi. Hope it all works out good for you. I'm still searching for the rite parts that work for a smog delete.
Derrick,
Your best bet may be to see if you can find someone who can send you a wiring harness, or a schematic so you can make your own. Other than that, all of the parts for the conversion can be purchased new.
New wiring harnesses are available at Painless Wiring but they're not painless- last I checked, the harness was over a hundred dollars.
NAPA has all the plugs, so with the wiring harness (available at junkyardgenius.com) you can build your own.
