Halloween

It has been so quiet around here, I think maybe everyone is working on their halloween costume or maybe making big plans for Columbus day.

OK, who's going trick or treating? We know that Flip and GS will because they have smaller kids?

I'm still trying to figure out what costume to get. Maybe a left handed monkey wrench.

My church does whats they call a trunk or treat in the churches parking lot, kids love to come up to my "Big" truck hoping to find the whole bed full of candy only to find a big bowl of Tootsie Rolls, Snickers, and Atomic Fireballs among other candies.

Gonna try and give out candy to kids this year. Last year was a total bust, about 8 kids total showed up on our side of the street. Across the street there were dozens of kids! Too bad some on the houses on our side look haunted

Poor Riley.. Julie is searching far and near for a costume for him, she thinks this year he will be Peter Pan, last year he was Under Dog, year before that he was a witch complete with cape and hat, I don't remember what he was the year before that....

He hates holidays.. she always dresses him up for them.. 4th of July, st patricks day..Christmas..

We usually just stay in the neighborhood, there is a street here real close that is very active, and we know most of the people. Three houses down from us, the people move out all the furniture from their house every year, set up a maize and with lots of smoke, and all kinds of displays, the girls always want to go, and they always come out crying, even though they call ahead and say "Small Children!"
Last year they had a wrecked car dragged to the back yard, and put on blocks, then a wrecked moped, layed them together like they had a bad wreck, and a kid laying under the car that was covered in fake blood and all kinds of things to make it look like a real accident... Isabelle still talks about it, it was pretty dramatic for her..

We don't get kids out to our house. There aren't any small kids in the neighborhood and folks don't drive out to the area. Must be all the scarey old folks in the area.

Maybe we'll go over to the kid's house in Wamego and fill in for them since they won't be home.

Hybris, so, how full are you filling the bed of the truck with candy? Maybe we could all show up there.

Did you have lots of trick or treaters? We didn't have any, but they we left the light off too. Not any kids out in our area.

OK, what costumes did your kids wear and did they make out like bandits?

Had about 20 this year, much better than last year. Jamie dressed Rusty up in a little pumpkin costume and he helped "hand" out candy. Well....not really. The pumpkin costume put him in a bad mood and he just growled at all the kids.

Wouldn't you growl too if she had dressed you up?

Riley was Under Dog. Maddie was Sleeping Beauty, and Isabelle was Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

We left three or 4 gallons of candy on the front porch with a sign saying help yourself, I would say only about half a gallon was gone, and most of that was our kids, and friends who went through the haunted house with us filled their pockets before going home.
