You have a creek running through your lot, you could pump water from it if it mattered to you..

that I could. Would need a couple hundred foot extension cord.. and have to have a pump that could lift it 10 feet up.

If you had a foot valve at the creek and filled the suction hose from the house the pump could probably much closer to the house depending on the strength of the pump

Most small water pumps push water better than drawing it.

If that's the case 100 foot extension cord will do the trick then..

A heavy might, other wise too much is lost with a long electrical cord. I like my gas powered pump.

That's what I'd use if there was a creek near me and needed water for gardening..
