Well, after working on this truck for almost a year, this is the crappiest day I've had with it so far.
Went out to work on my truck again, I was checking all the grounds and the starter, I had just got all my grounds cleaned up and I was getting really to try and crank it again, so I plugged in my block heater (cold day out) and took off the rad cap to check my coolant, when I looked down inside it was bone dry, (oh great) so I check my oil, and it was over filled, (here we go again) so I pulled my oil pan plug to see if any water had got in the coolant again, and sure enough, about a 2 qt's of water came out, so I pulled my glow plugs to see if any water was in the cylinders, and #6 cylinder was full of water.
Right then I knew the block had to be cracked, or have pinholes, and I'm guessing why my engine was slow cracking is cause of all the water, or it was getting really to lockup.
So right now I'm just trying to think of the best thing to do with it, I'd hate to sell the truck cause of how much work I've put into it, but I just don't have the space right now to do an engine swap, I'm just gonna have to think on it for awhile.
Anyways, thanks guys for all your help, even if it was all for nothing.
At least everything you guys have taught I can still use on a new truck, or a new engine.
i go after the guy u bought the truck form if he new the block was crack
he knew, cause mac said a friend of his said something about the block being cracked. ive got a extra block here man, gonna tear it down a bit to see why its locked up. it was givin to me by a fte member cause its locked up. figure theres tons of good parts still. if the block is clean, your more then welcome to it.
You think it's possible it could be the head gasket? Worth a shot to pull the head off and have a look, rather to just throw in the towel and assume a cracked block....could be an easy fix...

I already replaced both head gaskets, the guy said what was all that was wrong with it, then I found coolant in the oil and I replaced the oil cooler, and I found coolant in the oil again.
Wow, really sorry to hear that, I am worried I may wind up in the same boat... seems every time I fix something, she runs then something else...
Mine has 192k on it, and I doubt the PO even new what cavitation was, he was a real hack... I can just see getting it all finished and then the cavitation monster hits...
could sleeve the baddies or all the cylinders. theres a pressure test ya can do to verify which ones are leaking too. magniflux it or something could just be hard to see any crack s otherwise..
sorry to hear, always sucks when stuff breaks, but a motor hurts pretty bad
I'm gonna try and sell the truck, I'd love to fix her up, but there is just too much un-none with it, if the guy I bought it off of lied about the engine was he lying about the trans too?
I'm hoping I can find someone that will rebuild her.
After It gets sold though I'mma start looking for a crew cab, or ext cab IDI.
