ok this, more or less, isn't an important thread, i was just wondering if anybody else on here has come across a deal like this... i swapped a 93 conversion e-150 for this truck it's a 93 f-150 6cyl auto 2wd, nothing fancey, but this bugger has decent 31x10.5s and will burn strips from a dead punch, and power brake for ever. now i'v had a lot of 4.9s but never, had one that could even squeek going around a corner. lol i love this thing, going to shoot some vids and get them on youtube soon.
Both of my 4.9's could squeek around corners but nothing from a dead stop. Are you sure this truck is stock? I wish mine could do that as it is now but no way. It takes work to get that out of a six banger.
i can smoke the tires on my 92 4.9 if it doesnt get wheel hop. and it has the crazy tall 2.73 rears and is stock except for an exhaust. although it is a 5 speed, i dont have to rev the **** out of it to get those tires peelin'. stock size tires (235 75 15)
You do not want 4.10 gears with an inline 6. It is a low reving motor. That truck that seems to be running good may have 3.55 or 3.08. Actually having 4.10 gears will make it less able to roast the tires, but easier to break them loose.
Mine 4.9 all stock with 32x10.5 tires squeek in corners and dead stops. not extreme burn but enough to make people turn around, even when it switchs to 2nd gear makes a litle squeek
