fuel pump removal

fuel pump removal

OK iv narrowed it down to the fuel pump any tips or advice on changing it out would be greatly appreciated...thx 04 f250 6.0 litre diesel

Was actually very simple to replace. Three bolts and right out it came.

yup 3 bolts and 4 lines. not a big issue. glad you got it handled.

Well i replaced the pump with no luck removed fuel lines again blew through lines and it still doesnt prime....any more ideas guys...thinking i will check cap and o-ring again but iv looked at both several times.

did you check and varify the pump is comming on? check power and ground to it yet?

Yes cheezit the pump comes on and runs for 15 secs or so just willnot prime

ok take the upper filter off and cycle the key 2-3 times. waiting aprox 30 seconds between cycles. note this may make a mess with fuel on the engine and ground if it floods the bowl.
this may also sound stuipid but.... are yoy sure the sending unit in the tank is accuratly showing you have fuel in it? try adding a few gallons from a can.... been down this road before too.

i can blow bubbles back through the sending line and if its empty the mileage is also off and i actually tried cycling with the upper filter offprob five times and no fuel showed up,i then removed the fuel line leaving hfcm and still no fuel when i cycled.

from waht its sounding like you either have an air leak or a blockage.

I can blow through both lines on tank side and the line with the arrow pointing towards engine,all of this started when i changed my filters, maybe i created a leak some how on the hfcm ....not sure how to test for leaks though. I can not blow air through the lin returning from engine but was unsure as to whether i should hav been able to

did you ever figure this problem out? why are there many threads about problems after filter removal but never any answers? lol hope you got it fixed.
