2004 6.0L PSD Failure!
Here is what happened. We were pulling out of a gas station, heading to Morgantown, WV. We start to pull a hill on a curvy, rural road. The I looked back in the mirror and noticed a lot of white smoke. We continued up the hill and the smoke turned black. About 100 feet farther up the hill the truck sputtered, then we heard a pop and the engine failed.
We pulled off to the side of the road. He tried to restart the truck. I was getting my cell phone out of the rear of the cab and he tried to start it. We heard a pop -about like a .22 rifle- and I saw a spark fly out of the exhaust pipe. We're confused about this. We walked about 2 to 3 miles to the nearest gas station. We had cell service then. We called my wife. She brought my work truck CLEAR UP TO MORGANTOWN, that's 50 or so miles, and we towed the truck back to Lewis County.
It makes me sad now that my work truck, which I make payments on because I own the business, is a 2007 6.0L. Does anybody know what could be wrong with his truck? It left the Ford mechanic at Chenoweth Ford puzzled. He's a douche bag to me. He never knows what is wrong when I bring in a vehicle for a problem. If you can offer me and him help, please do.

This truck has been worked hard. They say it's got a new problem every month.
This is all IF it is a cracked injector. Normally it will start back up and smoke like a pig.
If the injector copper for some reason burned out or was missing, or the injector was not previously installed properly (seen all of it happen), then it would have created combustion pressure in the fuel system killing the engine and creating a no start, but also create an uncontrollable fuel leak back into the cylinder due to no copper and burned out lower o-ring.
It could be a number of other things too considering the sparks in the exhaust pipe are never a good sign.
You made sure it was diesel and not gasoline? Seen it happen, even to people who only drive diesels!
