Junkyard is the only place, unless there is some NOS (New Old Stock) at a Ford dealer somewhere.

I had to replace that switch with an aftermarket type, as the factory switch has been obsolete over 20 years. And yes the first thing to go was the factory plug.

? ok well if it is the connecter just go wire by wire with individual connections. there as far as i know aren't any electric fuel pumps so all that our switches *all my switch does is select the sending unit to display.*

i am sure i am wrong but that is what i would do just go wire by wire and eliminate the bad connecter or wire in generic connecters for later prevention of confusion.

just my advice and i am sure it came out wrong LOL.

edit

looking at the diagram you have front hot and cold rear hot and cold and a hot that runs to the fuel gage. just use 2 snap connecters *check radio shack or napa* and one single wire connecter and attach directly to the back of the switch. if that clears it out. for later prevention of confusion you can pain the front fushia and the back blue *get it get it huck yuck*.

Just a thought, but you may check some of the early Bronco websites. My 69 uses the same switch (although I don't recall seeing any on any of their sites). Jeffs Bronco graveyard is probably the best bet, they deal w/ resto more that the rest, or Toms Bronco parts. Also a place to look in the junkyards. good luck.

just install a new generic switch ( double pole single throw ) it will have 3 positions

top - on
center - off
bottom - on

one tank would go to the top terminal
the other tank would go to the bottom terminal
the center would go to your gauge
HOPE I SAID THAT RITE thats what i have done on all my trucks in the past
you would jus clip of the connector and crimp or solder on new connections

Just to clarify: You do not want a single throw, double pole switch.

A single pole, single throw is a comon on off switch. It has two positions, and two connections.

A Single pole, Double throw switch actually has TWO positions, but THREE connections at the back. Both positions are ON for different sections, or in this case different fuel senders. There is no off on a single pole, double throw. This is the one you want to buy.

A Double Pole, Single throw like named in the above post #10 is equivelent to two single pole, single throw switches. It has two positions an on, and an off, and four connections in the back. This switch is no good for a fuel gauge switch.

A single pole, triple throw. Like described in the above post #10, has two on positions and one off position in the middle. Although this would work in a pinch, why would you want to be able to turn your fuel gauge off? Better to get a single pole, double throw instead.

Hope this helps.

And Just to add.

The factory switch is a Double Pole, Double Throw. It has two positions, both on, but SIX connections at the back. Essentially two single pole, double throw switches in one. Three of the connections are not used, or are used for ground wires, so a single Pole, Double Throw can be used instead, and the ground wires tied together if applicable.

That one is a single pole, triple throw, and will work in a pinch. Autozones descriptions are wrong on a lot of their switches.

Get one of these the next time if you want, as these wont have the OFF in the middle.

Single Pole, Double Throw:
MSD Ignition: Part Number 8807 But it's $$$.

Double Pole, Double Throw:
DORMAN Part # 86911

Napa has a huge selection of switches as well. Varying $$$ amounts.
